A Testament to Strength and Faith

Update 9-4 11:45 AM

Our brave boy is still with us, and he’s showing us every day just how strong he is. His journey is long, but with each step, we are filled with hope. We’re praying for continued healing as we work towards removing his abdominal drain today or tomorrow.

Although the catheter must stay in place since he isn’t able to get up to pee on his own yet, we are grateful that he’s able to get up twice a day to walk outside. His feeding is on schedule, and though we wish he’d gain more weight, that takes time. He’s exactly one week post-surgery. One week ago, right about now, we were ALL praying for the surgery to go well. I really don’t know if any of us knew he’d survive, but we knew we had to try. So many miracles in such a short time, and God has been with him every single step of the way.

Every small victory matters. His progress is steady, but we must ensure he’s not burning more calories than he’s taking in. He’s still only 42 pounds and should be well over 90 pounds, but we are confident that, with time and love, we will get him there.

We are incredibly thankful for Dr. Millard and her team, who are tirelessly caring for him amidst so many other animal emergencies. We are trying to get there as often as possible to visit him and capture more videos of his journey.

We love this boy with all our hearts, and we thank you for your unwavering hope, encouragement, and prayers. Together, we will see him through this incredible journey.

Remember, Faith is not believing that God can, it is knowing that He will.
