Cabbage Patch’s Journey

2024
Exciting News!

We have exciting news! All 3 of these beautiful babies have been successfully weaned from oxygen and are back in foster! Cabbage Patch is still breathing harshly, but we hope for improvement every day. We will be continuing nebulizer treatments while in foster to help alleviate discomfort, but these 3 babies are already playing and excited to be back home! They are so strong, with such a will to go on.

With your support, we are giving these babies every chance possible to heal and grow strong. Together, we can surround them with all the love and positivity they need to keep going. Let’s show these babies that they’re not alone, and that brighter days are ahead.

Please help us give Cabbage Patch and his siblings the chance they deserve. Your support, no matter the amount, makes all the difference in their lives. Share their story, send your love, and if you can, please consider donating to their care. Their around-the-clock care at VESH for all 3 kitties is roughly $6,000. Together, we can make a miracle happen for these little ones.

We’re so grateful for all of YOU who have been sending love, support, and healing thoughts. We’re hopeful that brighter days are just around the corner.

Cabbage Patch Update

Our little warrior is holding steady! While there haven’t been any significant changes in Cabbage Patch’s condition, we are clinging to hope as he continues to eat and stay active. His breathing has shown a tiny glimmer of improvement, but we’re still waiting for that big breakthrough we’ve all been praying for.

The incredible team at VESH is working tirelessly to figure out what’s going on with our precious boy. They’re putting together an estimate to send out samples and get us some answers. We’re determined to get to the bottom of this and find the best way to help Cabbage Patch and his tiny siblings, Care Bear and Rainbow Brite, who are fighting right alongside him.

Every day is a test of strength for these kittens, but they’re showing us what it means to fight with everything they’ve got. Let’s continue to send all the love, positive energy, and prayers their way. Your support means the world to these little ones, and we’re so grateful for this community of caring hearts.

Thank you for being part of their miracle. ❤️

Meet Cabbage Patch and his surviving siblings

This tiny fighter’s will to live has already left us in awe. His journey is one of unimaginable resilience, but sadly, it’s not one he’s fighting alone. Just days ago, Cabbage Patch was rushed to VESH after slipping into severe respiratory distress. Tragically, his two siblings succumbed to similar symptoms before we could unravel the mystery of their sudden illness.

Despite the heartbreak, we remained hopeful that Cabbage and his two remaining siblings would escape the same fate. But now, our fears have been realized—Care Bear and Rainbow Brite, his precious siblings, are showing the same symptoms. All three kittens are now receiving round-the-clock care at VESH, and while they huddle together in the oxygen chamber, fighting for every breath, we can’t help but marvel at their bravery.

The uncertainty surrounding their condition is a painful reminder of how fragile life can be. We’ve explored countless possibilities—congenital issues, resistant pneumonia, even diseases inherited from their mother. It’s a constant battle to understand what’s attacking their tiny bodies and how we can save them.

The cost of their care is rising with every breath they take. So far, we’ve spent over $1,500, and there’s still so much more to be done. Their oxygen therapy, bloodwork, and medications are critical to keeping them stable, but every passing hour is a reminder of how much we need your help.

Cabbage Patch, Care Bear, and Rainbow Brite are more than just kittens—they are a testament to the lengths we will go to save those who need us most. They are worthy of every fight, every prayer, and every ounce of love we can give. While our dog-loving supporters have been amazing, we need our community to rally for these tiny feline warriors.

Please help us give Cabbage Patch and his siblings the chance they deserve. Your support, no matter the amount, makes all the difference in their lives. Share their story, send your love, and if you can, please consider donating to their care. Together, we can make a miracle happen for these little ones. ✨

Together We Fight!

Yesterday, we shared the heart-wrenching news of our brave little Cabbage Patch being admitted to VESH with severe pneumonia. As if that wasn’t enough to break our hearts, we’ve just learned that his two precious siblings, Care Bear and Rainbow Brite, are now showing similar symptoms and have also been admitted to VESH with respiratory distress.

As we stand by their side in this battle, we’re currently facing about $1,500 in medical treatment costs. Thankfully, all three kittens are able to share the oxygen chamber together, which significantly helps with costs and provides them comfort during this critical time.

We humbly ask for your support as we fight for the health and well-being of Cabbage Patch, Care Bear, and Rainbow Brite. Every bit of assistance makes a difference and helps us provide the care they desperately need.

We promise to keep you updated on their progress as soon as we receive more news. Your support means the world to us and to these sweet kittens. Thank you for standing with us in this fight! ❤️

Cabbage Patch & Siblings Update

Cabbage Patch is doing well, but there has been no change in his respiratory rate since last night. Thankfully, he’s still eating and playing, showing his strong will to keep going.

Unfortunately, one of the two remaining kittens in the litter has started breathing funny again. After speaking with the amazing doc at VESH, we decided to bring them all in and have them receive the same treatment together in the oxygen chamber.

To cover all our bases, the team is trying itraconazole in case it’s fungal pneumonia, and they’ve also started clindamycin. These treatments are crucial steps in the fight to save these precious little lives.

Let’s keep these kittens in our thoughts and prayers as we hope for better news soon. Thank you all for your unwavering support and love during this difficult time. It means the world to these tiny warriors and to all of us at Team Mikhal. ✨

Thank you for being part of their fight. ❤️

Say Hello to Cabbage Patch

Say hello to Cabbage Patch. Cabbage Patch is currently at VESH due to going into respiratory distress earlier today. Two of his siblings have already passed away after sudden respiratory distress and passing away within 24 hours or less.

After consultations with two vets, we were unsure of what was wrong. They were suspected to have congenital issues, antibiotic resistant pneumonia, or certain diseases inherited by the mother. We have now turned to the team at VESH for yet another work-up and opinion as it seems that this is destined to affect every kitten in this litter.

We now have some results that can hopefully save these remaining 3 kittens. Pneumonia has now been confirmed, and it is bad, even after a previous round of antibiotics. We are currently unsure if it is parasitic, viral, bacterial, fungal or if even toxoplasmosis is playing a role.

We are currently looking at least $1,000 for X-rays, bloodwork and oxygen therapy and antibiotics. We hope and pray that the two remaining kittens in the litter are unaffected and Cabbage Patch pulls through.
