It’s time for change.

Love has a miraculous way of healing what seems irreparable.
In the depths of brokenness, when all hope appears lost, love finds a way to reignite the flame of life. It wraps around the wounded spirit, whispers that they are seen, and reminds them that they matter. Love doesn’t just mend the heart; it revives the soul, giving strength where there was weakness and hope where there was despair. Through love, even the most broken spirit can find the courage to live again, discovering that, despite the pain, there is always a reason to keep going.

Through the power of prayer and all your support and love, Mikhal survived the night.
It truly is moment by moment with him for the next two weeks, but he’s showing us that he’s fighting and not giving up. When the vet moved him, he even snarled a little—proving he’s got some sass left in him. There is no question that Dr. Millard and her team were meant to care for him; their round-the-clock impeccable care has kept him here. We placed our hands with love on him, told him how much everyone is praying, and will update again later.

Words can’t describe the horrible condition Mikhal’s frail body is in—it takes your breath away. You don’t have to be a vet to see the suffering he’s endured, to witness his starved, weak form, and hear his soul crying out for help. His pain is palpable, a heartbreaking reminder of what he’s been through. Yet, despite it all, he’s still fighting, still holding on. Every moment is a testament to his resilience and the power of love, prayer, and care surrounding him.

The Wichita Animal Shelter (WAS) does not allow photographs or pictures to be taken inside their shelter.
The Kansas Humane Society (KHS) of Wichita requires rescues to sign an agreement not to say or write anything negative about WAS or KHS, or they will not allow rescues to “tag” or pull dogs and save lives. KHS chose not to take Mikhal into their care and waited THREE DAYS while he suffered inside WAS before reaching out to a rescue. If WAS (which is run by the police) allowed visitors inside and rescues to enter, Mikhal would never have been left in such a dire state. The time is NOW to speak up. Write the mayor, write the city council, write the police chief, and join us on October 18th at 2pm to place 1,500 collars at the steps of city hall in Wichita to represent every life lost without a chance for rescue. All we ask for is a chance to try and save them.

This is your taxpayer-funded shelter, citizens of Wichita, where animals are left to suffer and adoptable animals are euthanized every single day. Visitors are prohibited from taking photos or videos, hiding the true conditions inside. Mikhal has shown the world what WAS and KHS are hiding. It’s time for change.

Thank you all for never giving up and believing in miracles.
No matter how big Goliath may seem, God never left David’s side… Your love is making all the difference. ❤️
