Lola’s Journey to Healing

We are thrilled to share a small but mighty victory in sweet Lola’s journey! Last night, this brave girl had solid poop and even slept through the night without any accidents inside! For a dog who’s been through so much, these little milestones are HUGE.

Though Lola woke up feeling scared this morning, as if she didn’t recognize her surroundings or her foster, she slowly settled in after some time outdoors. With the patience of an experienced and loving foster, she’s learning that she’s safe now, and that every day brings more progress.

Lola’s appetite is strong (she’d love to eat a lot more!), and her foster was even able to comb out some of the mats on her sweet little face. Lola’s starting to wag her tail just a bit, and when her foster sits down, she’s begun to approach on her own for a few gentle pets.

One thing we’ve noticed is that Lola doesn’t seem to know her name or respond to her foster’s voice—it’s almost as if she’s never experienced the warmth of positive reinforcement before. But we believe that with time, love, and patience, Lola will learn what it feels like to be cherished, recognized, and celebrated for the wonderful dog she is.

We’re rooting for you, Lola! Each little step forward is a giant leap in her healing journey. Please send your love and support to this sweet girl as she continues to blossom under the care of her incredibly patient foster.
