New update on our sweet girl Daley.
This poor sweet soul. How long had she been alone and hurt? How long had she been wandering the streets just trying to stay alive with a wound so awful it fits right in with a horror movie. I wish she could talk to get to the answers as to what she has gone through—but sometimes I think if they could talk, we wouldn’t be able to handle what they have to say. Animals are stronger than many—her eyes and wound say enough—and now we must help.
Today she is stable. And actually taking all the vet’s care and procedures in stride. She has been an amazing patient so far, and the wounds are being assessed.
My requests for help from all are being heard, but with her still so far away… we still need more help. We tagged her in Oklahoma and rushed her to an emergency vet, where she still is, as we needed to ensure she was stable and able to transport to us in Spring Hill. Our fear of her being septic is a huge scary reality with a wound like this. And as you all know, any pop-in visit at emergency can push the checkbook—but then add medical care and X-rays, wound cleaning, and overnights. Antibiotics and IV meds. It’s all overwhelming—but when you see the photos, all you want to do is ease her pain and suffering. And that is exactly what we are trying to do.
So please, send prayers. Help her feel better. Help her get to us so we can really begin that healing—healing of her heart and body. We just want our loving hands on her to tell her she isn’t alone and we all love her and get her to her A&F family.
