Daley’s Healing Journey: One Step Closer to Her Best Life! ❤️
We are thrilled to share some amazing news about our sweet Daley! After her right forelimb amputation and ovariectomy, Daley’s incisions have healed beautifully, and today, she bravely had her sutures and staples removed. She’s been such a champ through it all, and we couldn’t be more proud of her resilience and strength.
For the next day or two, Daley may still need to rock her E-collar to make sure she doesn’t get too interested in licking her surgery site. But soon, she’ll be collar-free and ready to start gradually easing back into her normal routine. It’s all part of getting her back to her playful, happy self!
While this is a huge milestone, Daley’s journey isn’t over just yet. Our girl has also been diagnosed with a ruptured right cranial cruciate ligament. To help her move around pain-free and enjoy life to the fullest, she will undergo a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) surgery. As part of her upcoming procedure, Daley’s airway will also be checked for brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome, and treatment will be provided if needed, ensuring she can breathe easily and live comfortably. ️
Daley’s spirit has never wavered, and she continues to inspire us every day with her determination and will to heal. We are beyond grateful for your support and love during her journey, and we will keep you updated every step of the way as she continues her fight to live her best, happiest life.
Stay tuned for more updates on this incredible girl’s journey! ✨
Daley was hit by a car and left unattended for days with a mangled leg. By the time we found her, her leg was necrotic and had to be removed entirely, up to and including her shoulder. But she’s a fighter and not giving up. She has an ACL tear on the same side as her missing leg, and she’s patiently waiting for a forever home.
